A biography of a famous person

EICHIRO ODA

Eiichiro Oda is a Japanese manga artist, best know as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece. He was born in Kumamoto, Japan, in January 1975.

As a child, Oda was inspired by Adkira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. At the age of 17, he submitted his first work "Wanted!" and won several awards, including second place in the coveted Tezuka Award. That got him into a job at the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. At the age of 19, he worked as an assistant. During this time, he drew two pirate-themed one-shot stories, called "Romance Dawn", ehich would debut in Monthly and Weedly Jump in late 1996-early 1997. "Romance3 Dawn" featured Monkey D. Luffy as the protagonist, who then became the protagonist of One Piece, his best work.

In 1997, One Piece appeared for the first time in Weekly Shonen Jump and promptly became on ef the most popular manga in Japan. His biffest influence is Akira Toriyama, who is the creator of Dragon Ball.

Now Oda is married to Chiaki Inaba, who had played the One Piece character Nami during Jump Festa One Piece stage performances. They have two children.
He likes writing comics and inventing stories.
